The Wonderful Process Begins

The plastic molding procedure is actually very simple. It all starts with an idea. A client would think of a certain product and would search for a manufacturer with the capability to produce it. Once several meetings and consultations have been made, a preferred plastic raw material and metal mold will be chosen for the prototypes and the finished products.

Once a go-signal for the production will be given, the plastic raw materials will be fed into the machine chamber of the plastic molding machine via a hopper. A screw or plunger will manage the flow of raw materials into the chamber and make sure that the movement is steady. The plastic raw materials would be heated and liquefied then injected into the plastic molds through a nozzle. The moveable plates would apply intense pressure unto the mold so that the liquified plastic would take the shape of the mold.

Once the plastic manages to cool and harden, the pressure from the moveable plates would be removed. The finished product would then be ejected from the machine. As you can see, the entire process is simple but highly effective. This is how backpack buckles, toys, kitchen utensils, water bottles or car components are made.
